Dear Church Friends and Family:
Merry Christmas! Can you believe it is that time of year again? Time does fly faster and faster these days. I am praying that each and every one of you has a wonderful Christmas season. We are preparing each Sunday for the candlelight service on the evening of December 19th. We are lighting a candle each Sunday morning in the worship service as we move closer to the candlelight night.
As we are going through the season of giving let us remember that Christ has given the greatest gift of all to us and e did it so many years ago that many do not believe it. Surveys around the nation have shown that nearly 90% of American citizens believe in a higher power of some kind. Almost as many actually believe in God. Yet there are those who do not believe in the Christmas story.
An atheist group has erected a billboard somewhere in our country that reads, “You know it’s a myth, this season celebrate reason.†Well, reason is why I believe in Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ and the road to salvation. Some things cannot be explained and simple dumb luck does not satisfactorily answer some questions. I cannot believe in a theory that uses happenstance to formulate its “scientific†data. It is so much easier to believe in a God who purposed all life than to base by existence on a cosmic accident and a sketchy, at best, evolutionary process.
I hold to the verse that reads, “Therefore, God also has exalted Him and given Him the name which above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in Heave, and of those on earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.†Philippians 2:9-11
Merry Christmas to all and keep praying because God is listening and He will hear!
