October Letter from the Pastor

Dear Church Friends and Family:

“Hurry up and wait!” Have you ever heard this statement. If you have, it most likely was not with a smile on the face of the speaker. We are always waiting for something. When I was in college we would have to stand in line for registration, for lunch, to enter ballgames, etc. We always seem to be waiting for something. The problem is that most of us do not like to wait for long on anything.

God asks us to “wait on him” to see the fruits of our labors and we are impatient with it. Yet in the book of Acts 22:16 it asks, “And why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” People tend to find reasons to not accept Christ or to put Him off. Experience tells us that we are not guaranteed the next breath, but we still want to make our decisions and make Christ wait on us. Why do we do this? Why do we stall about making our decisions to serve our Lord? Why do we not run to Him and throw our arms around Him and show Him that we truly love and appreciate all that He has done for us?

This gives us something to think about as we begin our new church year this month. I pray that God blesses each of you with immeasurable blessings and joys for this month.

Praying Always, with All the Love in My Heart,

Brother Doug
