September Letter from the Pastor

Dear Church Friends and Family:

Nehemiah and the Israelites were trying to rebuild the way around Jerusalem. They were working against all odds. The enemies of the nation were stronger with more personnel and more equipment. The Israelites were given world of their enemies’ intent to destroy the work that was being done. But the Lord led Nehemiah and gave him the wisdom to rally the people of Israel rebuilding the wall and give them encouragement and strength.

In Nehemiah 4:17, it tells us that “those who build on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.

In other words, God’s people went about their assigned everyday jobs yet they were prepared to defend themselves and the work they were doing if the need arose. This is the spirit in which we are to be witnesses for Christ. As we go about our everyday jobs, we are to be ready to defend ourselves from the attacks of the Evil One. We are not to be idle, becoming lazy and inattentive or complacent, but we are to be armed and exercising each day.

Nehemiah gives us the example that we need to further the  cause of CHrist in our world, our nation, our state, our community, and our home. Be alert and stand ready while you labor. My prayers are with you.

Praying Always, With All the Love in My Heart,

Brother Doug
