The Journey – Week 10 – Session 2

We know that Jesus has called us to join Him in a crucial mission: The redemption of the world. We also know He has authority to call us into action …
“Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18).
To have authority means having the power to give orders to others – and having the ability to see those orders carried out to completion. In other words, someone with authority can both enact and enforce a decree. Therefore, Jesus’ claim to authority means He can send us out into the world.
But here’s the great news! Jesus’ authority also means we carry His power and credentials when we go out into the world to do His work. In other words, we are not proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples based on our own names or our own abilities. Instead, we have been sent by the One who holds the keys to both heaven and earth.
This takes the pressure off us of because Jesus is the One who makes things happen!
Jesus is the One who changes hearts, minds, and habits!
Jesus is the One who convicts people of their sin!
Jesus is the One who redeems the world!
All we need to do is be faithful to obey His command: “GO!”
What steps can you take to lean more heavily on Jesus’ authority?
Love you guys!
