We saw in Matthew 10 how Jesus sent the disciples out in pairs to minister in their communities. After the disciples returned, Jesus sought to equip them further by deepening their relationship with him:
“The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told Him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, ‘Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.’ He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and His apostles didn’t even have time to eat” (Mark 6:30-31 – NLT).
Let’s don’t miss this important truth – JESUS EQUIPS US WITH EVERYTHING WE NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN HIS MISSION FOR THE WORLD – but this equipping happens primarily as we spend time in His presence.
Question – How have you recently made time to connect with Jesus in a deep and personal way?
Remember that we don’t have to obey Jesus’ mission on our own authority. In fact, we CANNOT obey Jesus’ mission on our own authority.
But the great news is that we have been given the authority of Jesus in order to participate in His mission.
We are weak, but He is strong! We are fragile, but He is powerful! We fumble over our words, but He speaks for us! We have unconvincing arguments, but He changes hard hearts!
Your mission is not your own, and your authority and power is not your own. All you are called to do is humbly obey.
How is God calling you to obey Him right now? (Spend time in prayer as you contemplate this question)
Love you guys!
