August Letter From the Pastor

Dear Church Friends and Family:

Well, well, well! Check it out – summer is over and school is starting soon. Hopefully this means that much of the vacationing is over and we can settle down to business.

What business?” you may ask. Our Father’s business, that is, reaching out to those in need, helping the sick, the poor, and the lost to have a closer relationship with Jesus.

How do we do that?”  We do just what Jesus told us to do in Matthew 28:19-20, we go, make disciples, baptize, and teach. Let us start simply; first, let us pray for the students and teachers as they begin another year of education at Iola ISD. Then we can be ready to help in any way that will be beneficial to the community. Finally, we must share our faith with those who have no faith because God gives us the ability to care for one another. When we have done this, then we must teach about Jesus and God’s love toward us. In our teaching, we must remember to include His just nature. It is His just nature that makes His love for us so amazing. God can only do what is right yet He forgives us when we err.

Please continue to pray for the church, the community, and our country. I pray that God blesses each of you with His measures.

Praying Always, With All the Love in My Heart,

Brother Doug
