May Letter From the Pastor

Dear Church Family and Friends:

Can you believe that April has come and gone so quickly? Many of us found April to be taxing. Others of us were refunded for our efforts during the month. Some of us were fooled after a long March but all in all we are hoping that May will bring us peace and joy! That is my prayer for all of you as we start into the fifth month of the year 2013. Biblical numerology (study of numbers in the Bible) shows that the number 5 represents grace. I hope and pray for Iola Missionary Baptist and the Iola community that God’s grace is showered upon each of you this month.

Speaking of prayer, I would like to remind you to pray this Thursday on the National Day of Prayer. Many will join together for a ceremony at Bedias Baptist Church to pray for our nation and its leaders. We live in some of the most uncertain times for our nation and the freedoms that we cherish so much. Praying together for the same purpose is one of the ways that assures us that God will hear us as we lift our hands toward our Creator.

The month of May contains many birthdays, anniversaries, special days, and most importantly, Mother’s Day. Join me as I see blessings from God for all the moms. It is so nice that we can recognize our moms for the many things that they have done, and done without, for our families.

Please remember those of our congregation who have been unable to attend the worship services. Some are home-bound, some are in assisted living, some have had to move to be close to family, but all are missed and we have emptiness in our hearts for them. We know that they would be here if they were able. Please pray for them and their families as they go through the present trials. Again, thank you for being God’s servant in IMBC.

Praying Always,

Brother Doug
