October’s Letter from the Pastor

Dear Church Family and Friends:

October is here and many fall activities are in full swing. School has started and football and volleyball are both in their new seasons. Students are doing homework and studying for tests. Teachers are working on lesson plans and preparing the young minds of Iola for state tests. Everything is on its usual cycle and the church is no different. October signals a new church year and with that new teachers for Sunday School, new church officers, and new committee members for the coming year. In light of these events there will be a Mega-Committee meeting night this Sunday, October 2nd at 5 PM. If you have signed up for a committee for the coming church year, then you are expected to be in attendance so that we can kick off this year with more active committee action.

There are still a couple of big openings in our leadership for the next year. We are in need of a volunteer worship leader and a youth Sunday School teacher. Please be in prayer that those positions are filled quickly with God’s appointed.

I would ask that you keep the Wren family in your prayers as they cope with the loss of Nolan. Nolan has been a big part of the Iola area for many years and Nora, Ralph, Troy, and the rest of the family need our prayers and support.

Praying Always,

Brother Doug
