October’s Letter from the Pastor

Dear Church Family and Friends:

Thank you, thank you, and thank you to everyone who helped make Vivian McDougald Day a success. Mrs. Vivian was very excited and, according to her sons, had a great time. I would like to say how I appreciate Randy, Ricky, and Roddy for their ideas and support.  Thanks to Rita, Emma, Jack, and Tommy for working do hard behind the scenes. Mallett Brothers BBQ provided a terrific meal and Tina McDougald supplied not only beautiful but also rather tasty cakes for the occasion. Appreciation is also given to Honor Trophies for the lovely 35 year plaque. In John 12:26 it tells us, “If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” We don’t always get the chance to honor those who serve God here on Earth. But we can always hold this promise in our hearts that God, our Father, will honor those who serve Him when we get to Heaven.

Praise God for His blessings to Iola Missionary Baptist Church in the forms of attendance and offerings. We have been running for a number of weeks at 70+ in Sunday School and the tithes and offerings are up. We gave a love offering to the Ellis family and exceeded the goal for the Mary Hill Davis missions offering. God has blessed this church and its membership and it shows as some is being given back in the three forms of tithing: time, talents, and treasures. Thank God for the willing hearts of the membership of IMBC! Please continue to pray for those who have lost loved ones, the sick, and for rain. May God continue to bless each of you with His measures on a daily basis.

Praying Always,

Brother Doug
