This week we turn our hearts toward the assurance that our faith actually works. The Bible warns against having a mere “wordy” faith – a faith that only professes to know Christ but does not exhibit the life of God.
In yesterday’s message, we noted two indicators that our faith is a working faith – Obedience and Love!
Jesus told us that “by their fruit you will recognize them.” Jesus is not saying that our salvation is BY our works. We are saved not by our obedience, but Christ’s obedience. We simply put our trust in Him as the Savior and Lord of life.
But what Jesus did mean is that our putting our trust in Him leads to obeying. Obedience is the natural fruit of faith in Jesus as Lord. When your faith in Christ yields the fruit of obedience, you KNOW that you know Christ.
Carry this thought today – WHAT A JOY TO OBEY!
