Beware of using a veneer of obedience to mask a selfish heart.

The Pharisees in Jesus’ time relentlessly pursued acts of obedience, but they became self-righteous – believing they deserved heaven because what they had done.
What does the Bible say about this? “Without Christ, even our best, most righteous works areas ‘filthy rags’ (Isaiah 64:6).
The Pharisees’ external obedience lacked so much that is important to God – namely, an attitude of love from the heart.
Carry this thought today – I OBEY BECAUSE I LOVE!
